Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Riftcast:

• Account information - email address and authentication data when you create an account
• Payment information - processed securely through Stripe; we do not store your card details
• Usage data - pages visited, predictions requested, and general interaction patterns
• Discord account connection - when you choose to link, we store your Discord user ID, a display-name snapshot, the linked Riftcast account, and connection timestamps. Short-lived link tokens are stored only as hashes. Discord subscription status is checked to authorize your Premium access on Discord and the linked website account; it is not shared with a server. We store the subscription product ID, verification time, access deadline and expiry when provided. To enforce the Free daily allowance, we also store your Discord user ID, UTC date and selected match. These daily records survive unlinking and are removed within eight days while the companion is running.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and maintain the Service
• Process payments and manage subscriptions
• Improve our prediction models and user experience
• Send important service-related communications

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Data Sharing

We may share data with:

• Stripe - for payment processing
• Microsoft Azure Application Insights - for anonymized usage analytics
• Google Analytics - for anonymized traffic and audience analytics
• Google AdSense - for serving advertisements to free-tier users

Third-party services have their own privacy policies governing their use of your data.

4. Cookies

We use cookies for:

• Essential cookies - required for authentication and core functionality
• Analytics cookies - help us understand how visitors use the site
• Advertising cookies - used by Google AdSense to show relevant ads (free-tier users only)

You can manage cookie preferences through the cookie consent banner. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are necessary for the Service to function.

If you decline analytics cookies, we still record anonymous aggregate measurements - page views, approximate country, and referring site - without storing any cookie or identifier on your device, and without any means of recognising you across visits.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access - request a copy of your personal data
• Rectification - correct inaccurate personal data
• Erasure - request deletion of your personal data
• Restriction - restrict processing of your personal data
• Portability - receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Object - object to processing based on legitimate interests

7. Security

Discord connections are optional and used only for account authorization. Run /unlink in Discord or open Discord settings from your Riftcast account to remove the connection, its website access verification and associated link tokens. Tokens expire after approximately ten minutes and expired records are removed within an hour while the companion is running. Account deletion removes linked Discord records and consumed tokens; requests for deletion or export use our existing privacy contact above. We do not read ordinary Discord messages, store interaction tokens persistently, or collect server relationship data. Entitlement lookups are cached for at most one minute; website access verification expires within two minutes unless successfully refreshed. Aggregate command telemetry excludes account names, emails, payment details and prediction contents.

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date.
